The Hythe Project - Control Software

The following is a list software functions which I have either written or planned for the control of alternative technology systems used in the 'systems library' associated with my activity analysis and design method for the home/workplace.

1. Power: Wind and Solar Generators: acquire wind speed and direction and configure generator coils and analogue control circuits to take maximum advantage of the torque and speed of the rotor.

2. Solar Heating and Environmental Conditioning System: monitor parameters at various points in the system to acquire maximum solar gain and optimise use of dynamic and stored heat sources.

3. Water recycling system: management and monitoring of the flows of the various grades of water present in the home.

4. Food cycle: management of food inventory and recipe scheduling and diet balancing. Crop scheduling and management and monitoring. Waste management.

5. Laundry cycle control: machine cycles, management and inventory of garments.

6. Maintenance management - routine, preventative and crisis maintenance.

7. Trading, communications, documentation and presentation systems.

The Virtual Hythe Project

In the future world of family hythes, the above software should complete the core of what is necessary to control the basic functions of a hythe-based micro-economy. However, we all still live in the present world of so-called Liberal States within a global capitalist free-market. How can we as individuals aspire to living in a natural sustainable way in this adverse environment?

An attempt is being made to provide a way to live within the confines and constraints of present-day suburbia as if in the beautiful natural sustainable socio-economy of 'Hythe World'. This attempt is called The Virtual Hythe Project.
